Audi Q6 e-tron Lands in the UK: Powerful Performance Meets Electric Innovation

Posted on April 30, 2024

The future of electric SUVs has arrived in the UK with the launch of the all-new Audi Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron. These premium vehicles mark a significant milestone for Audi, showcasing the brand’s commitment to “Vorsprung durch Technik” (advancement through technology) in the electric era.

Available to order now, the Q6 e-tron starts at £68,975 (MDP), while the high-performance SQ6 e-tron begins at £92,950 (MDP). Both models boast impressive credentials, including:

  • Up to 381 miles of driving range (WLTP figures for Q6 e-tron performance not yet available)
  • Superfast charging at up to 270kW thanks to 800-volt technology
  • Advanced new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) for exceptional performance and driving dynamics
  • State-of-the-art infotainment and driver assistance systems powered by the new E3 1.2 electronic architecture

“The Audi Q6 e-tron represents the true embodiment of Vorsprung durch Technik as we take the next step in our transformation into a provider of premium electric mobility,” commented Andrew Doyle, Director of Audi UK. “It’s arrival not only brings huge advancements in battery recharging, on-board technology, and driving dynamics, but also signals the start of Audi’s most ambitious product initiative in history.”

A Streamlined Model Line-up

At launch, UK customers can choose from two variants:

  • Q6 SUV e-tron quattro: This all-wheel-drive model comes in Sport, S line, and Edition 1 specification options.
  • SQ6 SUV e-tron quattro: This high-performance flagship is available solely in the Edition 1 specification.

Later in 2024, the line-up will expand with the addition of:

  • Q6 SUV e-tron: A rear-wheel-drive version with an entry-level price point of £59,975 (MDP).
  • Q6 SUV e-tron performance: Another rear-wheel-drive option equipped with a larger battery and priced at £63,475 (MDP).

Simplified Powertrain Naming Convention

Audi is introducing a new, simplified naming structure for its electric vehicles. Here’s a breakdown for the Q6 e-tron:

  • Q6 e-tron Sport, S line, or Edition 1: Entry-level, rear-wheel-drive model (available later in 2024)
  • Q6 e-tron performance Sport, performance S line, or performance Edition 1: Rear-wheel-drive model with a larger battery (available later in 2024)
  • Q6 e-tron quattro Sport, quattro S line, or quattro Edition 1: All-wheel-drive model (available now)

SQ6 e-tron quattro: The Electrified S Performance

Living up to the legacy of the S badge, the SQ6 e-tron quattro delivers exhilarating performance with 490PS, a 0-62mph sprint time of 4.4 seconds, and all-wheel-drive agility. Engaging launch control pushes the power output to a staggering 517PS, shaving off 0.1 seconds from the 0-62mph acceleration.

Tech-Packed Interior and Generous Standard Equipment

The Q6 e-tron boasts a driver-centric cabin dominated by the Audi MMI panoramic display. This curved touchscreen system integrates the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and the 14.5-inch MMI touch screen. The Edition 1 models go a step further by offering a 10.9-inch MMI touch display for the front passenger, allowing independent control of infotainment and navigation features.

The impressive list of standard equipment across the line-up includes:

  • New integrated Audi app store
  • MMI navigation plus
  • Audi connect internet-based services
  • Wireless smartphone charging
  • Audi Assistant voice control
  • Driver assistance systems for parking, lane changes, and traffic monitoring
  • Comfort features like heated seats, steering wheel, and three-zone climate control

Trim Levels Offer Distinct Enhancements

Each trim level in the Q6 e-tron range provides a unique blend of features:

  • Sport: Sport seats, comfort key, heated seats and steering wheel, three-zone climate control with preconditioning.
  • S line: Upgraded wheels, S line styling elements inside and out, flat-bottom steering wheel.
  • Edition 1: Sport suspension, further wheel upgrades, Matrix LED headlights, black styling package, premium interior materials
