Audi Unveils Groundbreaking Q6 e-tron: A Leap Forward in Premium Electric Mobility

Posted on March 19, 2024

Audi‘s commitment to the future of mobility takes a monumental leap with the announcement of the Audi Q6 e-tron, set to redefine premium electric SUVs. Unveiled by Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, the Q6 e-tron marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey towards electrification.

Built upon the pioneering Premium Platform Electric (PPE), a collaborative effort between Audi and Porsche, the Q6 e-tron represents a fusion of cutting-edge technology and refined design, embodying Audi’s iconic slogan of “Vorsprung durch Technik.”

“With the new PPE platform, the Audi Q6 e-tron is the next technological leap in premium electric mobility for our customers,” stated Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, during the world premiere at the Ingolstadt plant.

The Q6 e-tron stands as a testament to Audi‘s promise of delivering electric vehicles across all core segments by 2027. The model sets unprecedented standards in performance, range, charging capabilities, driving dynamics, and design, paving the way for a new era of electric mobility.

Setting a new benchmark in electric range, the Audi Q6 e-tron boasts an impressive range of up to 381 miles on UK models, thanks to a powerful lithium-ion battery and compact, scalable electric motors. The model series, available in two variants – quattro and SQ6 e-tron, promises exceptional performance with system outputs of 285 kW (388PS) and up to 380 kW (517PS) respectively.

Charging the Q6 e-tron is a breeze with its 800-volt technology and a maximum charging capacity of 270 kW, enabling rapid charging stops. In just 10 minutes, the vehicle can recharge up to 158 miles at a high-power charging station, ensuring minimal downtime on the road. With 100kWh (94.9kWh net) of battery capacity, the Q6 e-tron offers up to 381 miles of WLTP range.

Audi’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the vehicle itself, with materials sourced from recycling processes integrated into the production of the Q6 e-tron. From recycled polyester to scrap steel, Audi is dedicated to reducing its environmental footprint while delivering uncompromising quality.

Inside, the Audi Q6 e-tron offers a harmonious blend of luxury and functionality. The three-dimensional design of the interior creates a spacious and ergonomic environment, complemented by innovative technologies such as the Audi MMI panoramic display and the MMI passenger display.

The Audi Q6 e-tron also marks a significant advancement in lighting technology, introducing the world’s first active digital light signature. With digital OLED rear lights and dynamic lighting features, the Q6 e-tron ensures optimal visibility and safety on the road.

In terms of driving dynamics, the Q6 e-tron delivers precise handling and agility, thanks to its newly developed chassis components and rear-biased torque distribution. Advanced driver assistance systems further enhance safety and convenience, making every journey effortless and enjoyable.

Production of the Audi Q6 e-tron reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. Integrated seamlessly into existing assembly lines, the model series is manufactured using existing structures and systems, showcasing Audi’s dedication to efficiency and environmental responsibility.

The Audi Q6 e-tron quattro and SQ6 e-tron will be available for order in the UK starting April 2024, with prices starting from £68,975 and £92,950 (OTR) respectively. Full pricing and specifications will be announced closer to the market launch, promising customers a comprehensive experience of premium electric mobility.

As Audi continues to push the boundaries of electric mobility, the Audi Q6 e-tron stands as a testament to the brand’s unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the ultimate driving experience.
