LEVC Rolls Out First L380 MPV, Marking Major Shift Toward Global E-Mobility Solutions

Posted on January 29, 2024

LEVC, the iconic British taxi manufacturer, is revving up for a major transformation. The company has announced the start of production for its first fully electric Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), the L380, marking a significant step towards becoming a leading provider of global e-mobility solutions.

This is no ordinary MPV. The L380 is the first vehicle built on LEVC‘s revolutionary new Space Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform, co-developed with the Geely Holding Group. This platform promises significant advancements in range, efficiency, safety, charging time, durability, and connectivity, paving the way for a new generation of spacious and sustainable electric vehicles.

From Taxis to E-Mobility Leader

LEVC’s journey began in 1908 with the iconic black cab, a symbol of London’s streets for over a century. In 2018, they unveiled the TX, the world’s cleanest and most advanced electric taxi, powered by their eCity technology. Now, with the L380, LEVC is venturing beyond the taxi market, aiming to become a major player in the global e-mobility landscape.

“Today marks another momentous occasion for LEVC,” said Alex Nan, CEO of LEVC. “This is not just about launching a new MPV; it’s about our transition from a high-end taxi manufacturer to a leading e-mobility technology company.”

The L380: Spacious, Flexible, and Electrifying

The L380 boasts a luxurious and highly flexible interior, with multiple seating configurations to cater to diverse needs. Choose from a practical three-seater layout, a spacious six-seater arrangement, or a comfortable eight-seater option.

But the L380’s appeal goes beyond its versatility. This MPV is powered by the innovative SOA platform, promising impressive range, fast charging capabilities, and advanced safety features. LEVC is keeping the specific details under wraps for now, but they’re sure to turn heads when revealed.

Global Ambitions

The L380’s launch marks the beginning of LEVC’s global ambitions. While the MPV will initially debut in China, the UK market can expect to see it within the next two years. LEVC aims to have a presence in over 40 countries in the coming years, with multiple new SOA-based models joining the L380 on the journey.

“The L380 is the first demonstration of our future vision,” said Nan. “We’re bringing advanced zero-emission transportation to more customers than ever before, and we’re excited to take them on this journey with us.”

A New Chapter for LEVC

With the L380 rolling off the assembly line, LEVC is turning a new page in its history. The company is no longer just about taxis; it’s about shaping the future of sustainable mobility. The L380 is a testament to LEVC’s commitment to innovation, flexibility, and environmental responsibility, and it’s sure to be a game-changer in the electric vehicle market.

This is just the beginning of LEVC’s exciting journey. With the innovative SOA platform and a global vision in place, the company is poised to become a major force in the e-mobility revolution. Keep your eyes peeled for more news about the L380 and LEVC’s future endeavors, as they continue to redefine the landscape of electric transportation.
