Mercedes-Benz eSprinter Charges into UK Market with Industry-Leading Range and Tech

Posted on February 5, 2024

The UK’s most reliable van, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, is taking the electric vehicle (EV) market by storm with the launch of its new eSprinter model. This revamped van boasts a game-changing range of up to 271 miles (436km), nearly doubling the previous model’s capabilities. Additionally, it packs a punch with advanced technology, class-leading safety features, and unparalleled aftercare, making it a compelling option for fleet operators seeking sustainable and efficient solutions.

More Range, More Deliveries

The eSprinter comes in two battery sizes (81 kWh and 113 kWh) and two motor outputs (100 kW and 150 kW), offering flexibility to suit various needs. The larger battery option, combined with regenerative braking and optimized features, delivers the impressive 271-mile range, empowering businesses to handle more deliveries without worrying about range anxiety.

Tech-Savvy and Safety-Conscious

The eSprinter isn’t just about range; it’s also packed with cutting-edge technology. The latest MBUX infotainment system with a 10.25-inch display provides seamless connectivity and navigation. Additionally, a suite of optional digital services, including Navigation with Electric Intelligence and remote climate control, enhances convenience and efficiency. Safety remains a top priority, with standard features like Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Assist, ensuring driver and passenger protection.

Unrivaled Aftercare

Mercedes-Benz understands the importance of uptime for businesses. The eSprinter comes with an integrated service package covering the first four services within the first four years, minimizing downtime and maintenance costs. Additionally, a 30-year roadside assistance package with out-of-charge cover and generous warranties on the vehicle and battery offer peace of mind.

Sustainable from the Ground Up

The eSprinter’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond its electric drivetrain. It utilizes nickel- and cobalt-free batteries and boasts a carbon-neutral production process. This commitment to environmental responsibility aligns with growing demand for eco-friendly solutions in the commercial vehicle sector.

Market Impact

The new eSprinter is poised to make a significant impact on the UK’s large van market. Its extended range, advanced technology, safety features, and comprehensive aftercare package make it a compelling option for businesses looking to transition to electric vehicles without compromising on performance, efficiency, or reliability. With first customer deliveries expected in May 2024, the eSprinter is set to become a major player in the UK’s electric van segment.

Henry Benz isn't your average automotive journalist. He's not obsessed with horsepower or zero-to-sixty times. His passion lies in the quiet hum of electric motors, the surge of instant torque, and the thrill of a world hurtling towards a sustainable future. Henry is the EV evangelist, your plug-in pal, and the guy who will make you fall in love with the world of electric vehicles, one test drive at a time.

Henry's journey began in the golden age of muscle cars. He spent his youth wrenching on classic V8s, his nose forever stained with grease and his ears ringing with the roar of internal combustion. But as the climate crisis loomed larger, a seed of doubt sprouted in his gearhead heart. Could there be a way to enjoy the thrill of the open road without sacrificing the planet?

That's when Henry discovered the world of EVs. He was captivated by the silent power, the instant acceleration, and the sleek, futuristic designs. He devoured every article, watched every documentary, and hopped behind the wheel of every electric car he could find. He was hooked.
