The roar of an electric revolution is set to echo through the halls of Salon Privé London this week, as MG takes center stage with the stunning new Cyberster electric sports car. The iconic British brand is celebrating its 100th anniversary at the prestigious event, held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea from April 18th to 20th, 2024.
This marks one of the first public appearances for the highly anticipated MG Cyberster, offering a glimpse of the future before its official summer launch.
The Cyberster is a fitting heir to the legendary MGB Roadster of the 1960s. This sleek, two-door, two-seater convertible carries the MG legacy forward with a powerful electric heart. Designed just a few miles away at MG’s London design center, the Cyberster seamlessly blends classic MG features like a low nose and distinctive rear haunches with modern flourishes like a Kammback tail and dramatic scissor doors.
Performance enthusiasts will be thrilled by two available configurations. Even the base, single-motor version boasts a fiery 340 horsepower, propelling the car from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 5.2 seconds – a feat the original MGB could only dream of. For those seeking the ultimate thrill, the range-topping dual-motor all-wheel-drive Cyberster unleashes a ferocious 544 horsepower, achieving 0-62 mph in a neck-snapping 3.2 seconds. This powerhouse is poised to become the fastest-accelerating and most potent production car ever to wear the MG badge.
A vibrant palette of colors complements the Cyberster’s dynamic design. The launch color, a bold Dynamic Red, sets the stage, joined by a contemporary interpretation of Old English White – New English White. Camden Grey and Cosmic Silver offer sophisticated options, while the premium Inca Yellow adds a touch of fiery intensity.
“The MG Cyberster captures the spirit of the iconic MGB Roadster, with a two-door, two-seater convertible design that pays homage to MG’s racing heritage,” said Guy Pigounakis, MG Motor UK Commercial Director. “However, its fully electric drivetrain and high-tech interior propel the brand into a new era, serving as a figurehead for the future of electric motoring.”
Pigounakis continued, “Salon Privé London provides the perfect platform to introduce the MG Cyberster to a wider audience and allow guests to experience our halo model firsthand. We are honored to be part of this prestigious event and share the stage with some of the world’s most esteemed automotive brands.”
