New Kia EV6 Gets a Range Boost and Price Hike in UK

Posted on September 3, 2024

Kia has announced the UK pricing and specifications for its updated EV6 electric crossover. The new model features a larger battery pack, improved charging capabilities, and a range of upgrades across the trim levels.

The EV6 is now available in three grades: Air, GT-Line, and GT-Line S. All models come standard with a larger 84.0kWh battery pack, which offers a significant increase in range compared to its predecessor.

The entry-level Air trim features a single-motor rear-wheel drive setup, producing 225 horsepower. It has a claimed range of up to 361 miles on a single charge. The GT-Line and GT-Line S models can be equipped with either a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive system. The all-wheel drive models offer a combined power output of 320 horsepower.

The new EV6 also boasts improved charging capabilities. Thanks to its 800V architecture, it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes using a compatible fast charger.

Kia has maintained the generous standard equipment levels across the EV6 range. Features such as automatic headlights, LED lighting, heated seats, and a touchscreen infotainment system are included in all models. Higher trim levels add features like a panoramic sunroof, a premium sound system, and advanced driver assistance systems.

The pricing for the new EV6 starts at £45,575 for the Air trim. The GT-Line and GT-Line S models are priced from £48,575 and £53,675 respectively. Customers can also choose from a range of optional extras, including different paint colors, interior trims, and technology packages.

Kia expects to start delivering the new EV6 to UK customers in the third quarter of 2024. The company is confident that the updated model will continue to be a popular choice for electric vehicle buyers in the UK.

Henry Benz isn't your average automotive journalist. He's not obsessed with horsepower or zero-to-sixty times. His passion lies in the quiet hum of electric motors, the surge of instant torque, and the thrill of a world hurtling towards a sustainable future. Henry is the EV evangelist, your plug-in pal, and the guy who will make you fall in love with the world of electric vehicles, one test drive at a time.

Henry's journey began in the golden age of muscle cars. He spent his youth wrenching on classic V8s, his nose forever stained with grease and his ears ringing with the roar of internal combustion. But as the climate crisis loomed larger, a seed of doubt sprouted in his gearhead heart. Could there be a way to enjoy the thrill of the open road without sacrificing the planet?

That's when Henry discovered the world of EVs. He was captivated by the silent power, the instant acceleration, and the sleek, futuristic designs. He devoured every article, watched every documentary, and hopped behind the wheel of every electric car he could find. He was hooked.
