Posted on February 15, 2024

The iconic Renault Trafic van, a trusted workhorse for generations of tradespeople, is entering a new era with the launch of its fully electric E-Tech version. Available for pre-order now, starting from £34,500 after the Plug-in Van Grant (PiVG), the new Trafic E-Tech promises to deliver zero-emission performance without compromising on the practicality and versatility that have made its predecessor a bestseller.

Choice and Versatility Remain Key

Customers can choose from three versions of the new E-Tech, with two body lengths and two heights available. This ensures there’s a configuration to suit diverse needs, offering load space ranging from 5.8m3 to a generous 8.9m3. The LWB version even boasts a clever load-through facility that accommodates items up to 4.15 meters in length.

Performance and Practicality in Harmony

Powered by a 52kWh battery, the Trafic E-Tech offers a WLTP range of up to 186 miles, making it suitable for both urban and suburban tasks. Rapid DC charging at 50kW replenishes the battery from flat in just an hour, while AC charging options provide flexibility for home and public charging.

Renault hasn’t forgotten the practicalities for tradespeople either. The cabin boasts up to 88 litres of storage, and the innovative “Mobile Office” feature continues, offering a convenient folding work desk or meal table for on-the-go professionals.

Tech-Savvy and Safe

The new Trafic E-Tech comes generously equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen display, wireless smartphone integration, and full LED headlights. Safety is paramount, with a comprehensive suite of features including emergency braking, lane departure warning, and driver attention alert as standard.

Pre-Order Now, Deliveries in September

With pre-orders open and official orders starting in June, customers can secure their new electric Trafic E-Tech ahead of first deliveries in September. This marks a significant step forward for electric vans, offering businesses and individuals a practical, versatile, and sustainable alternative to traditional combustion engine options.

Henry Benz isn't your average automotive journalist. He's not obsessed with horsepower or zero-to-sixty times. His passion lies in the quiet hum of electric motors, the surge of instant torque, and the thrill of a world hurtling towards a sustainable future. Henry is the EV evangelist, your plug-in pal, and the guy who will make you fall in love with the world of electric vehicles, one test drive at a time.

Henry's journey began in the golden age of muscle cars. He spent his youth wrenching on classic V8s, his nose forever stained with grease and his ears ringing with the roar of internal combustion. But as the climate crisis loomed larger, a seed of doubt sprouted in his gearhead heart. Could there be a way to enjoy the thrill of the open road without sacrificing the planet?

That's when Henry discovered the world of EVs. He was captivated by the silent power, the instant acceleration, and the sleek, futuristic designs. He devoured every article, watched every documentary, and hopped behind the wheel of every electric car he could find. He was hooked.
