Nissan Ariya NISMO: A New Electric Performance Benchmark

Posted on September 10, 2024

Nissan has revealed key specifications and performance data for the highly anticipated Ariya NISMO, marking the return of the iconic NISMO brand to Europe. This new flagship electric vehicle blends Nissan‘s latest EV technology with motorsport-inspired upgrades, delivering a thrilling and accessible driving experience.

Aerodynamic Excellence

The Ariya NISMO boasts a meticulously engineered aerodynamic design, featuring new spoilers, air curtains, and a front splitter inspired by Formula E. These enhancements reduce drag and improve airflow, resulting in a 40% reduction in lift coefficient compared to the standard Ariya.

Powerful Performance

Under the hood, the Ariya NISMO packs a punch with a NISMO-tuned powertrain that delivers 435 PS (429 HP / 320 kW) and 600 Nm of torque. This translates to a 0-62 mph acceleration time of just five seconds and an impressive 50-70 mph sprint in 2.4 seconds.

Enhanced Handling

The Ariya NISMO’s e-4ORCE four-wheel-drive system has been refined to provide even greater turning and lateral forces than the GT-R NISMO. With a new 60:40 rear-bias and 10,000 times per second adjustments to power distribution, the system delivers a more engaging and sporty driving experience.

Premium Interior

The Ariya NISMO’s interior features a redesigned cabin with premium materials and NISMO-inspired accents. The seats are specifically designed for sporty driving, offering enhanced support and comfort.

Availability and Pricing

The Ariya NISMO will be available in a single standard launch specification with a NISMO Stealth Grey exterior finish. Sales are expected to begin in January 2025, with priority access available to UK customers who contact their local Nissan dealer.

Henry Benz isn't your average automotive journalist. He's not obsessed with horsepower or zero-to-sixty times. His passion lies in the quiet hum of electric motors, the surge of instant torque, and the thrill of a world hurtling towards a sustainable future. Henry is the EV evangelist, your plug-in pal, and the guy who will make you fall in love with the world of electric vehicles, one test drive at a time.

Henry's journey began in the golden age of muscle cars. He spent his youth wrenching on classic V8s, his nose forever stained with grease and his ears ringing with the roar of internal combustion. But as the climate crisis loomed larger, a seed of doubt sprouted in his gearhead heart. Could there be a way to enjoy the thrill of the open road without sacrificing the planet?

That's when Henry discovered the world of EVs. He was captivated by the silent power, the instant acceleration, and the sleek, futuristic designs. He devoured every article, watched every documentary, and hopped behind the wheel of every electric car he could find. He was hooked.
