The ID. Buzz Family Grows: Spacious 7-Seater and Powerful GTX Models Now Available

Posted on September 5, 2024

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has expanded the ID. Buzz lineup with the addition of two exciting new models – the practical 7-seat variant and the high-performance GTX.

The ID. Buzz 7-seat prioritizes passenger space and extended range. Built on a longer wheelbase, it comfortably accommodates up to seven passengers and boasts a larger luggage compartment, perfect for family adventures. The increased wheelbase also allows for a bigger 86kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of up to 291 miles, ideal for longer journeys. Starting from £59,545 OTR (On The Road), with deliveries commencing in early Autumn 2024, the 7-seater allows for flexible configurations, including a six-seat option. The second-row seats offer sliding and reclining functionality, while the third-row seats are entirely removable for when maximum cargo space is needed. Safety remains a top priority, with all rear seats featuring three-point safety belts and ISOFIX child seat mounting points on select seats.

With the third row in place, the ID. Buzz 7-seat offers 306 litres of luggage space. Folding or removing the third row expands this to a generous 1,340 litres, further increasing to a cavernous 2,469 litres when both the second and third rows are folded flat. This makes it a perfect transporter for bicycles, surfboards, or any other gear needed for family outings. The Multiflex board, an adjustable boot floor, provides additional flexibility by creating a second loading level or a completely flat load area.

Performance Meets Practicality with the ID. Buzz GTX

For those seeking both practicality and exhilarating performance, the ID. Buzz GTX and GTX 7-seat models are the answer. These top-of-the-line variants boast dual electric motors, delivering a powerful 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system and a combined output of 340PS. The standard GTX, equipped with a 79kWh battery, accelerates from 0-62mph in a brisk 6.1 seconds. The long-wheelbase GTX 7-seat, with its larger 86kWh battery, takes a mere 6.5 seconds to complete the same sprint. Notably, both GTX models offer a towing capacity of 1,800kg (standard) and 1,600kg (long-wheelbase), making them ideal for towing trailers or hauling equipment for outdoor adventures.

The ID. Buzz GTX comes with a 79kWh battery, delivering a WLTP range of 423km (262 miles). This battery can be charged from 10-80% in just 26 minutes using a rapid DC charger with a maximum capacity of 185kW. The GTX 7-seat, with its larger 86kWh battery, can be charged even faster at 200kW DC charging stations, achieving a WLTP range of 475km (295 miles).

Standard Features Abound

Both the 7-seat and GTX models come generously equipped with a comprehensive list of standard features. The ID. Buzz Life 7-seat boasts 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with taillights, heated front seats, a heated leatherette steering wheel, a navigation system with a 12.9-inch touchscreen, and a suite of driver assistance features including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and parking sensors. The ID. Buzz Style 7-seat adds further amenities like larger 20-inch alloy wheels, upgraded LED headlights, power-sliding doors and tailgate, a multi-flex board, and a premium sound system.

The ID. Buzz GTX takes the features even further, offering 21-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, 30-color ambient lighting, power-adjustable front seats with memory function, premium upholstery with red stitching, and the same advanced driver assistance and infotainment systems found in the 7-seat models.

With a starting price of £67,435 OTR, the ID. Buzz GTX offers both practicality and exhilarating performance for those seeking a unique electric vehicle experience.

Sustainable Charging Options

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has partnered with energy experts OVO, allowing customers to charge their ID. Buzz vehicles at home for just 7p/kWh with the OVO ‘Charge Anytime’ add-on. Additionally, new Volkswagen Group customers signing up with OVO receive up to 10,000 free miles initially, followed by 1,000 free miles annually for the next three years.

The ID. Buzz family caters to a wide range of needs, offering spacious practicality for families in the 7-seat variant and thrilling performance with the GTX models.
