Volkswagen Debuts Powerful ID.7 GTX Tourer: Estate Meets Electric Performance

Posted on March 15, 2024

Volkswagen has launched a product offensive with the GTX lineup, announcing the ID.7 GTX Tourer hot on the heals of the ID.3 GTX. This new electric estate car boasts a powerful punch and combines practicality with sporty performance.

Most Powerful VW Estate Ever

The ID.7 GTX Tourer reigns supreme as the most powerful Volkswagen estate ever built. It delivers a whopping 250 kW (340 PS), exceeding the standard ID.7 Tourer‘s 210 kW (286 PS). This powerhouse offers a taste of the future, seamlessly blending spaciousness with exhilarating electric performance.

Spacious Elegance

Despite its sporty character, the ID.7 GTX Tourer doesn’t compromise on space. With a luggage capacity of 605 liters (seats up) and a maximum of 1,714 liters (seats folded), it offers ample room for passengers and cargo. Whether you’re embarking on a weekend getaway or hauling a week’s worth of groceries, the ID.7 GTX Tourer has you covered.

Instantaneous Power

The ID.7 GTX Tourer isn’t just about brute horsepower; it’s about instant gratification. Its dual electric motors provide maximum power and torque the moment you press the pedal, delivering a thrilling driving experience akin to a sports car.

All-Wheel Drive Prowess

The ID.7 GTX Tourer boasts the 4MOTION electric all-wheel-drive system, ensuring excellent traction and confident handling in all weather conditions. This system combines a 210 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle with an 80 kW asynchronous motor on the front axle.

GTX Design Cues

Distinctive design elements set the ID.7 GTX Tourer apart. New bumpers, 20-inch aluminum wheels, illuminated Volkswagen logos, and a customized interior with sporty accents differentiate it from its standard counterpart.

Sustainable Performance

The ID.7 GTX Tourer champions sustainability without sacrificing performance. Its new high-efficiency drive system and excellent aerodynamics ensure long journeys between charging stops. The new 86 kWh lithium-ion battery offers extended range, and DC fast-charging capabilities allow you to reach 80% charge in under 30 minutes (ideal conditions).

Tech-Packed Interior

The ID.7 GTX Tourer prioritizes a comfortable and connected driving experience. Standard features include IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, a panoramic sunroof with smart glass (optional), a customized multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats with GTX lettering, and a 30-color ambient lighting system.

Wellness on the Go

The innovative Wellness app (optional) personalizes your in-car experience. It allows you to adjust various features like lighting, sound, air conditioning, and even seat functions to create pre-programmed wellness modes like “Fresh Up” or “Calm Down.”

GTX Color Options

The ID.7 GTX Tourer comes in a range of colors, including the signature Kings Red Metallic – a homage to the classic red paintwork of the iconic Golf GTI. Other options include Glacier White Metallic, Scale Silver Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, and Moonstone Grey Solid.

Cutting-Edge Driver Assistance

Safety is paramount in the ID.7 GTX Tourer. It boasts a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems, including Park Assist Plus with memory function, Connected Travel Assist with online data for assisted lane changes, and a new exit warning system that alerts you to approaching traffic when exiting the vehicle.

Effortless Charging

The ID.7 GTX Tourer supports DC fast-charging up to 200 kW. This allows for quick and convenient charging on the go. Additionally, an innovative thermal management system preconditions the battery for optimal charging performance at DC stations, minimizing charging times.

Precise Handling

The ID.7 GTX Tourer delivers a dynamic driving experience. The running gear is specifically tuned for the powerful GTX drivetrain and features progressive steering for exceptional handling and predictability. The optional DCC adaptive chassis control further enhances the driving dynamics.

The ID.7 GTX Tourer represents the future of electric mobility, seamlessly blending power, practicality, and cutting-edge technology. It’s a perfect choice for drivers seeking a spacious, sporty, and sustainable estate car.
